It is known that every Adipex pill contains 37.5mg of Phentermine active substance, which pharmacological effect is to stimulate the central nervous system (CNS). By stimulating the CNS, Phentermine acts in hypothalamus, suppressing hunger and increasing feeling of satiety.
In addition to the fact that Phentermine can suppress the appetite, it also enhances metabolic processes in the human body, also stimulating fat metabolism. Therefore, those people who take Adipex pills lose weight not only due to reduced amount of food they consume, but also because of fat burn, even with the lack of physical activity.
Phentermine is released out of Adipex pills within 1-2 hours after oral intake. Maximum anorectic effect is observed approximately 4 hours after oral intake of a single dose of Adipex.
Given that Adipex (Phentermine) is a powerful CNS stimulant (including noradrenergic and dopaminergic nervous systems), it may cause severe side effects from the CNS (anxiety, depression and insomnia). Therefore, Adipex is contraindicated for patients, diagnosed with mental disorder, or with history of depression and drug dependence.
